Obviously this hasn't been posted yet. But I think its one of the most beautiful landmarks in Europe (aren't there any French people in this forum?). If you're in France sometimes you have to go there! The lower part is very (very!) touristy, but if you climb up all the stairs to the old abbey you will find a unique medieval atmosphere and a breathtaking view. The "city in the sea" is said to be more than 1,000 years old.

That depends on the status of the see LOL.
sometimes when there's no fleet you can walk there, but you should hurry. Cause when I went there we were too slow and got pretty wet :-/
Others than that its a convent :-)
