This is a discussion thread for the following file:<br><br><b><a href=http://www.googleearthhacks.com/dlfile2399/Monaco-Roads-Project?.htm>Monaco Roads Project?</a></b><br><br>Panning across Monaco makes for some strange objects. Like this one.. is this a road? snowbarrier? a giant slide? Following the structure to its end in the east doesn't help either...<br><br><img src=http://www.googleearthhacks.com/images/new/774966end_road.jpg>

The road is the motorway A8 (aka E80) from Genova (Italy, East) to Marseilles (France, East) and further to Spain or Paris.

At this point, as it is often the case on this motorway (see around), there are 2 tunnels, one for each direction, not at the same altitude (the road toward East is higher than the opposite toward west). So you'll find the following road, just 350 m north-east of your point, near a gas station, and 2 km (1,3 mi) after, you'll have to pay 1.30 Euros (just more than $1) at the toll...

If you check-on the Road overlay in GE, you'll notice that there are many many tunnels from Nice (East) till after Imperia (Italy), and some are very long. The spendings in electricity are therefore huges... and this motorway is very expensive for users.
