A negated overlay for GE? You know how you can negate pictures which make them like weird colors? Example (http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/102/avyt1nh.jpg)

You mean negative? I have not made an overlay, but if it is an image transparancy you should be able to get a negative image. I don't know what image software most people use but I use Irfanview : http://www.irfanview.com/ it makes great negatives.

Gimp (http://www.gimp.org) is an open source picture tool comparable with PhotoShop, but just for free. You can do that there pretty easily.

Also, (I haven't tried it before) how do you put a 2D picture on a 3D globe?

Okay I tried it with photoshop, I used the Luxor Hotel as an example.(one example is colored one is gray)

Sweet..(this could make for some interesting files)
Also..messing with the opacity of the image makes some cool effects.
