Afraid its only an electricity power plant fuelled by coal.

I should know, I live about 4 miles away and my hair hasnt dropped out yet :)

It's Ratcliffe-On-Soar Power Station, near Nottingham, a conventional coal-fired power station, *not* nuclear at all. Can't you see the large pile of coal to one side? Good grief. How many seconds of research would it have taken to find this out? What a terrible posting.

Yep - Ratcliffe on Soar was the view from my kitchen window for 2 years.

Coal-fired (in a big way!).

However the poster was not local judging from the use of English in the caption.

Maybe s/he got some kind of confusion between Essex and Notts?

No - unlikely.
