From <a href=http://www.gearthblog.com/>Google Earth Blog</a>:

"<a href=http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/2006/06/huge_database_u.html>Google made a HUGE update to the Google Earth satellite/aerial photos database</a> late Thursday night June 8th (not yet available in Google Maps aerial database). There are now high resolution satellite photo data strips scattered all over the world where there were previously only lower resolution data."

Good find grav8e - I anticipate a whole lot of 'new' sightings here on GEH in the weeks and months to come.

Now this is what I call Google Earth! No more Google North America/Western Europe. This is what it's all about, and in the future it will become 100% hi res.

Well done Ggl

Thanks to this update, I've gotten to see my hometown in high-res for the first time.

They didn't update every location yet, though.

Hi ant_11 and welcome to Google Earth Hacks!
You don't have to download anything, new Hires areas will be downloaded automatically by opening GE.

Malone, to get these updates, open google earth, and go to say the middle east, its not an update for the program as such, its an update of the images you view in google earth, so its not for your computer, but for google's server where your copy of google earth gets the images from
