Microsoft Virtual Earth (http://www.arcon5.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=220) or Google Earth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Earth) ?

Im UK based!
I see Google Earth is a download and MSN is online, do google earth have an online version?

Based on my location, which would you suggest, which brings best results and most accurate search results?

The last time I even heard of these they were still in developement stages so never really tried them. Now I think it will beneficial.

Thanks
Tony

I'd say here we would recommend GE, because look at our website, it's GE based ;)

Hum,
for London GE is good. quick and easy.

You can also access M$ Virtual earth with Worldwind (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/) with a plugin (http://www.brains-n-brawn.com/default.aspx?vDir=veworldwind).
See hacking thread: HERE (http://www.googleearthhacks.com/forums/showthread.php?p=31252#post31252)

Which is great if you live somewhere where the GE data has poor resolution.

Why not have both?

Hum,
you can check the resolution for the prehistoric Bryn Celli Ddu burial chamber on Anglesey (Wales).

Point GE at Latitude: 53.208427 Longitude: -4.238844 and see the differance.

(71kb, 705 x 493, compressed jpeg)

This was tapping into M$, and no doubt the same data will be used by GE in the future...

No Hi-Res in MSVE for Indian region.

GE gives Hi-Res even for minor towns and I think they give it based on topicality. Many areas which are not a part of city/main city are shown in Hi-Res ( E.g. Nuclear site Pokharan is a remote place but is in hi-res. )

Secondly MSVE is annoyingly slow. I may never touch it any time in future. Today I operated it for the first time because of this thread.

The maps however are more detailed in MSVE.

May be MSVE is concentrating on US for now and will give better imagery for other regions later.

I agree with Brad and Roadsweeper ... GE is better ( at least presently )

If there was any way that I could get rid of M$UX and still be able to fly my M$FS - I would
