I wonder if itīs possible to use some kind of script to copy an area in GE at a certain altitude? I want to copy a lot of images from the area shown in the picture from 1600 feet and stitch them together and make a photorealistic scenery in Flight Simulator 2004. Location: 59°27'27.56"N 17°42'22.03"E
Iīm using the free version of GE.

I'm using www.ttqv.com to copy areas from GE.

Hello,
Do you manage to take detailed sections of Google earth with that Touratech software? I'm trying to extract a few tiles in order to get the maximum possible resolution, so that I can create maps for another application called SmartComGPS that runs on a Symbian phone, but doing it by hand is very troublesome, because I would have to take several shots and calibrate each shot.
Best regards.

t5urn on errain, and tilt down, you'll be amazed at how Google makes it accurate, anyways, yes, using that above, it should work. ;)

Can you please give me some instructions on how to use TQV in order to copy areas from GoogleEarth?

Can you please give me some instructions on how to use TQV in order to copy areas from GoogleEarth?Hi,
it's quite simple - you need the PowerUser version to get a mosaic.
- update TTQV to version 4.0.71 (http://www.ttqv.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7517)
- open TTQV
- open GE version 4-beta
- reset north and tilt ('R' key)
- zoom GE to selected area
- from TTQV klick on a map table within a database then select "New" from the button bar "Import maps from GoogleEarth..." and fill the dialog field
http://mac-im-netz.de/dateien/pictures/gecapture.jpg
- at the end you find all JPG files and world files in the dirctory "C:\Program Files\TTQV4\download\"
- you can paste all tiles to a bigger mosaic or use the QTL function in TTQV to see the whole region.
Regards - Anton
Macnetz, thank you very much for your help. You really helped me out, as although I already read the manual on the Google Earth section, I couldn't find that "import maps from GoogleEarth" option (my TQV was outdated).
You don't happen to know the OziExplorer program, do you? I'm trying to use the resulting JPG's with this program, but I can't seem to be able to use the calibration file (JGW).

I'm trying to use the resulting JPG's with this program, but I can't seem to be able to use the calibration file (JGW).Hi,
the JGW is the world file - some programs can use it for automatic calibration (for some programs you have to change the file extension to TFW). If you save the calibration from TTQV as a CAL file OZI should import the image correctly.
Regards - Anton
BTW - there is a tool in German to export GE tiles already calibrated for OZI

Oh man!
This is exactly what I'm after!
Any feedback on the above? Has anyone got this to work?
I'm going abroad soon :D and want to take my O2 Orbit (with Built in GPS) with me along with aerial photos of the towns I'll be staying in.
I've tried looking at the Tracky (http://www.trackthisout.com/) software, which has everything I need but it only seems to let me download in very small segmants (i.e. at maximum zoom) from Google Maps.
What I really need is a way of downloading/exporting a large section of aerial photos from Google maps or stitching the smaller sections togther?
I then got pointed in the direction of http://www.aaaasoft.com/gmid/index.html and http://www.jxvpn.com/
which seem to let me download aerial images off Google Earth/Maps.
It then lets you merge these smaller image tiles into a single tile.
My problem is that the merged JPG file will be in the region of 200MB for the area I want... I imagine this to be massive when uncompressed!!!
I'm finding it tricky to get this to work with OziExplorer.
I'm beginning to think Mobile Google Maps and somehow storing the cache on
an SD card is the only way forward on this one... but still haven't figured out how!
Ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance...
