Does anyone else have this problem I am having, or is it something to do with my PC?

Yep, I have tried everything, it has always been like this since I downloaded beta. I have reinstalled it, upgraded it and still no change. The same happens with 3D buildings, and I can't view overlays. What could the problem be? Turning it off and then on doesn't change anything unfortunately.

The problem is actually with your graphics card (at least that's the best I could figure out). To fix the problem - Tools:Options:View:Graphics Mode (the opposite of what is checked, either OpenGL or DirectX) (or if that doesn't work, Safe Mode).
You will need to restart GE for the change to take effect.
I have the same problem on a laptop I use, but had the problem with the previous version and had hoped that the 4.x Beta would solve it. It didn't, so if anyone has a better solution PLEASE let me know!!!
The thing is that by switching the graphics mode it makes the color resolution lower too, meaning you get the blotchy appearance like with photo gifs. It also means that when you start up GE there will be a nag box asking you if you want to switch to the recommended settings. Click No.
Hope this helps!

Well I have had that problem on several laptops from clients of mine, and I get the same conclusion to change that setting. The problem is I find that on Compaq laptops, the only setting that works in DirectX, and OpenGL won't even open, but on DirectX we get a borders problem. So whatever you do, the borders are screwing up the screen, whether they are on or off.

OK, here's what happens. I had been using directx safe mode. I switched off the safe mode and:

I switched to opengl, it moves slowly and with jerks, the borders are thicker but otherwise no problems. But it's so slow, there's no point..same with or without safe mode. So I'll just turn my borders off... :menacing: :slant:
It's because it's beta, hope they'll fix it soon.

This is a problem with the graphics card. I have had the same problem. I use ATI graphics and when I upgraded the drivers everything worked.
