I found these bright lights in the skies of Ucraine, near Chernobyl
I wonder what they are!! Prolly just some small meteorites that were falling and were captured in camera, but that's only one opinion :P

UFOs? Radiation mutant birds?? Huge flashlights?? post your opinion ;)

I had posted this in another forum about airplanes, by jjcmiranda, but decided to open a new thread to discuss what they are

[I forgot to mention something, I found those lights REALLY near to the Chernobyl Nuke Plant, right above the city where the workers of the plant lived! if you zoom out, you can find it a lil to the southeast :D]

I notice that all the streaks Originate within the boundry of the building. Only the trails exit the perimiiter. Based on that, I would eliminate any meteor/airborne thing.

I think it is just some reflection from the building and that that the moving satellite caused the streak.

(Just a guess)

Looks more like a solar energi field to me.

It's a greenhouse.

Sladys is right. The reflection of a solar panel field. It is part of the Chernobyl power plant complex.

Greenhouses aren't wellknown in Ukraine. I only know the soviets had build a solar energy plant as an experiment in the Ukraine in 1986 (as it also says in this paper). But the paper mention the Krimean peninsula but who knows, it could also be here near the Chernobyl plant.

I think it could be this one. Also up to the year fit with the incident. Who knows. ;)

It's safer there than you think..... Did anyone else see "Horizon" on BBC2 a couple of weeks ago? It looks like they have to rewrite the rulebook on the effects of radiation after the things they found in that area.....

I have seen these kind of refractions before... they have been posted regarding the planes on area 51.. they have them coming off some of the wing tips.. it looked like they were crashing.

Just a glitch in the photography.

exactly. The satelite is moving while shooting those photos, and so reflections of the sun on mirroring roofs or else, are looking like bright lights with tails. Nothing special

PS: tho I think these are some burning cows :P

I believe the spikes are caused by the way the camera lens is constructed in the satellite. See this link from Astronomy Picture of the Day:

anyway guys, that can't be a solar plant....
why they have to build a solar plant just beside a NUCLEAR PLANT?

in 1986 or before ,in that part of the globe nobody was interested in solar plant just think that at less than 3km there is one of the biggest ex urss nuclear plant.... i don't think they care so much about environment at that time:P

the streaks are going exactly along the north-south axis aswell. Gotta be relections...
