I am trying to create a route/path in GE to upload to a handheld GPS receiver.
Here's what I've done:
Created path in GE 4 for Mac
Exported .kml
Used kmltogpx utility to convert to .gpx (fish-track.com/kmltogpx/index.cfm)
Used LoadMyTracks to download .gpx to Garmin GPS III+. (cluetrust.com/LoadMyTracks.html)
Problem: The .gpx data file shows the individual wayponts for the path, but the path loaded into the GPS receiver is made up of one waypoint repeated by the number of waypoints in the path. The path created in GE identifies each point with lat/long, but all the points are named the same according to the name of the path. I think this confuses the GPS unit.
