I have a problem with my GE4 Beta (see screenshot below). I tried everything- going through all proposed by Google Earth Support causes, removing adware, uninstalling, reinstalling GE, and other things. Nothing can stop this nasty error message from popping up, and preventing me use GE. It started when, I had to use it for a while without internet access. But now that I have access, I can't open the programme. The only change I had made was to clear all the cache. I get the feeling that unless I reinstall my OS - Windows XP - I won't use GE4 again (GE 3 runs badly on my PC). Clicking OK, and then mannually Logging In doesn't work. Prior to this, except for some border problems, GE4 ran perfeclty well. I also contacted the Google Earth team, but have not received a reply yet.
I'd be grateful if someone can share any bright ideas for solving this problem. Thank you!

if you have a firewall try temporarily disabling it, or if you have virus protection software, make sure that GE4 is allowed to access the internet

Thanks for the quick reply. Where can I find this Firewall?

Okay, All you have to do is go to [start]-[control panel]-[network connections] then on the sidebar(left side) you should see a icon that says [Change Windows Firewall settings] click on that, then just click on [OFF]
That's it, when you get GE4 Running just turn it back on.(same process just press On instead of Off.)

Thanks again! Unfortunately, I don't have such an option on the left bar. Is it possible that I don't have a Firewall? What else could I do?

Yes - it's Kaspersky AV Control Centre!

Well I don't know much about that program, but if it's possible disable it then try GE4 then turn it back on if you connect or not.

Did it, and still the same. Then I closed the anti-virus programme altogether, still the same

Hmm :slant:
Okay, turn back on your virus program.
Have you tried e-mailing GE support about it?

Searching for this GE error code gives some results.
Graphics drivers, firewalls, closed ports, etc...
And this topics here:

Thanks, Martin! The second link may prove vital, but unfortunately what one of th guys proposes that works for everybody doesn't work for me for now...
OK
I just went to install the latest version and had the same old problem, and this time the auth.module stuff didn't work.
I found another way
Just delete the three MS C++ libraries under Program Files\Google\Google Earth\(msvc***.dll).
You should already have newer versions on your system for the program to use.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, got the same error, and fixed it again by deleting the files, so its repeatable.
good luck
I'll have a better read, but still if anyone knows the solution, I'd be grateful!

Just to say that the problem has been solved. A guy from the Google Earth Community helped me. Seems like all I needed was to install the Microsoft Service Pack 2. Nevertheless, thanks for trying to help me!

Stefan
