finding ireland

hiya

so, i've been searching for places in ireland. GE cannot find them.

it's fine on big cities like dublin or belfast, but it seems unable to find anything like; wicklow, kerry etc. even though they are marked on the map, if you search for them it come up with nothing.

this is slightly frustrating.

has it to do with the version i have (the free 3.0 version)?

or is it geographical information that GE is just generally missing?

eta: it's also the same on google maps. so is google just missing info on ireland?

At least Wicklow works fine with my GE3. GE finds it and zooms to it.

Found Wicklow but not Kerry in GE4

Just a thought, but it won't find Kerry because it's a county, not a place. If you search for towns or villages you'll have better luck. For most places outside of the US you generally have to specify the country name as well, so the county town of Kerry search for 'Tralee Ireland' and it should find it. I don't think it much matters if you're using v3 or v4, the places and the map data are still the same.

I know of a city called Kerry in Northern Ireland so I entered it. And ended in Wales. :lol:

Really? Are you sure? Because I can't find any place in Northern Ireland called Kerry, certainly not a city (there are only 5 in NI). Derry perhaps (also called Londonderry).

But anyway, as I mentioned I entered Kerry northern Ireland and ended in Wales. Typical GE.
