This is a discussion thread for the following file:

Wrecked F-14

It's not actually a wrecked plane, according to a user at GEC: "Actually, this is not a wreck in the sense of a crashed aircraft. This is a "parts bird" as the Navy calls them. When an aircraft gets too high in flight time, they turn it into parts. It is sort of a one airplane junkyard for the squadrons there. At the time this flyover was done, this aircraft probably was belonging to VF-201, who is now VFA-201 after they replaced their F-14's with F/A-18's."
