I have a free version of a Google Earth, and I've found a little program what can make paths in this version:
GEPath (http://www.sgrillo.net/googleearth/#GEPath)
it works good but there is a little bug:
- with GEParth create a path
- this path get into the GE Places panel
- I can see the path, everything is good
- but when I double click on the path's name in the Places panel, the whole globe is disappearing!
- and it comes back if and only if I restart the GE
somebody knows what is the solution??? pls hlp me :whine:

Hi norbre
I was unable to reproduce the behavior you have reported. GE free and GE-Path are working well here. Can you post the file generated by GE-Path? Might be some thing specific to your place marks.

How can I export several placemarks from GE to GEPath? ´cause it isn´t funny to set the lat/long for over 100 placemarks by hand just to get a path!
Thanx!

1. Create a folder in GE to hold your placemarks
2. Create, move or copy your placemarks there
3. Save the folder as kml file
4. In GE-Path menu File/Open kml ... choose your file
That's all

sgrillo,
I've uploaded 4 files (2 tests):
case 1:
Originally GE Plus path exported to kml (http://norbre.uw.hu/gepath/track-1.kml)
GEPath created kml file (http://norbre.uw.hu/gepath/track-1-path.kml)
case 2:
Created with GE free with use of placemarks (http://norbre.uw.hu/gepath/path_test.kml)
GEPath created kml file (http://norbre.uw.hu/gepath/path_test-path.kml)
I tried this a weeks ago, and than really was that symptom.. but now the globe wasn't disappearing.. but!.. when GEPath created klm file gets into the places panel, there is two "label".. examlpe in the "chase 2":
>path test-Path
Path on-off
when I doubleclick on the "path test-Path" label, it goes to really to the path but when I doubleclick on the "Path on-off", the globe rotates to coordinates 0,0..
do I think wrongly the second "label" (Path on-off) isn't work propertly? or I do something wrong?
thx
(..anyway this is a very great program.. :teeth: )

I know why didn't disappear the globe.., becouse a week ago I tried with the new GE.. so
- in the new GE (v4) the globe is disappearing,
- in the previous GE (maybe v3?) the globe is rotateing to coordinate 0,0
..when I doubleclick on the "Path on-off" (the second label)

norbre,
You are right. You have found a little bug generated by the arrows in the path segments. It shall be removed in the next GE-Path version.
Run GE-Path again, with the option "arrowed" unchecked. The behavior of GE shall be ok now.
It seems that there is also a workaround if you want to keep the path arrows:
1. In GE right click in the path on-off icon;
2. Choose "Properties";
3. Go to the "View" tab;
4. Click in "Snapshot current view" and in "ok".
I hope this helps you.

I am a complete Novice using GE Pro (free version
4.3.7204.0836 (beta)
I have located a series of 60 points which I would like to display in GE and measure perimeter and area.
I saved the locations in Lat-Long format i.e; 31º 16’ 22.95” N / 116º 19’ 28.42” W
Now I have downloaded GE Path v. 1.42 and am trying to list these points on the clipboard, but I get an error message
Do I have to convert the Lat-Long points to UTM ???
If so, what is the quickest and easiest way to do that ??

I don't know anything about paths, but doesn't GE Pro cost money??
