Looks like a volcanic cone of some kind. It's not in any lists, so I'd guess it's some part of Adwa which is very close to that object. (and another one)

The cone is part of the Ethiopian rift valley.

And the ghost in the water is the signature of the Phantom.

The whole area appears to have been recently very active geologically. ( Geological recent ... maybe 10 to 50 thousand years ;) )
Many craters, Mountain Folds, Outcrops etc.
Rarely have I come across so many geological features concentrated so abundantly in one place.

Yes, every now and then the pressure will be released via ducts formed through the volcanic craters.

You can see some volcano mouths inside the water also.
