unbelievabe i think, forget all the planes and ships, this is, i think, the highest thing.
i thought, what is disturbing the picture of the city, until i realized it is a satellite, something between the earth and the camera, can anyone tell something about this ?

just to be sure i am not crazy, i added the picture of it. if you compare the height, it must be a building about, dont know, 500 m? the Mainzer dome is on top right and about 43m high. and where is the shadow of it?

ok yeah I was looking at something else yeah it kinda does look like a sataliette, but why would a sataliette be in the image. You think they would of edited it out kinda like how they did with trees, but yet again they didn't edit out shadows or some clouds.

the question is: in which heigth does the filming satellite be, and in which height the other. i don't think the manipulatet the image, the light seems to be okay.
the higher the satellite above the surface is, the slower it gets. so it could be that filming satellite is slower than the other one, none of them are geostatic. perhabs it's a msn-satellite which wants to be faster than google ;)

I think, this is not a Building... but a Satellite should be displayed V E R Y big on the Screen.

The Satellite, who captures the Google Earth pictures is up there too.
And if it captured another satellite (between the Earth and itself), it would be displayed very huge on the screen. As large as a Continent maybe.

The "satellite" you captured is flying in ~200m over the Town :)

I'm not sure you'd be able to even see a satellite. Surely the satellites taking the images have a very specific focal length? If the photographed satellite was close in altitude, wouldn't it appear blurred and huge?

ok for those of you who keep arguing..........there is probaly another sataliette a great distance above the other so called "sataliette" that is probaly why it doesn't appear "huge" or "blurred".

Hi docc!
Sorry, but I have to disappoint you. What you've found is not a satellite. It is "Erbacher Hof" in Mainz, Germany, a building for events (owned by the catholic church). It's one of the largest lead roofs in Germany.
