That is one serious GE application. So many questions. Let's hope burgerha joins us here...

Any thoughts on what the green towers are?

I wasn't able to verify it, but I guess these are waypoint markers. I am sure, McMaster will tell us...

Edit:
Correction, this are measurement points for environmental noise polution by aviation...

The "towers" you see are the sound in hertz.
So you can see what noise a plane produce by take off./ landing
this program is specially build by people, who like to complain about the noise around schiphol.
With this program, they can point out the plane flying over....

Hello burgerha. Thanks for joining us. As I said above: “So many questions”. Here are, for me, the key ones:

Who owns the real-time data, both aircraft movements and, for want of a better term, “listening stations”?
The Dutch government is most sensitive (one might almost say paranoiac) about static GE views; the number of censored areas in Holland is amazing. Do you anticipate comeback from the government on showing, in the public domain, details of real-time aircraft movements?
Who wrote the GE application?
Given access to other, similar, sources of the data, is the application portable to other airports?

A couple of questions about the running application:

There are listening stations, and some aircraft movements, at Arnhem and Masstricht. What have they to do with operations at Schiphol?
Any chance of having live trails the same length as dead trails??

Thanks for listening, Tom
