It's hard to say... In many countries much of the population speaks English, though they don't have their day-to-day conversations in English. For their main tongue, meaning that the majority of all conversation and business is carried out in English, it is probably Anguilla*, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda*, Belize, the British Indian Ocean Territory*, the British Virgin Islands*, Canada, the Cayman Islands*, the Falkland Islands*, Gibraltar*, Grenada, Guam*, Guernsey*, Guyana, Ireland, Isle of Man*, Jamaica, Jersey*, Montserrat*, Nauru, New Zealand, Pitcairn Islands*, Saint Helena*, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands*, Trinidad and Tobago, the Turks and Caicos Islands*, the United Kingdom, the U.S. Virgin Islands*, and the United States.

Thus, the true countries with English as their primary language are
    Antigua and Barbuda
    Australia
    The Bahamas
    Barbados
    Belize
    Canada
    Grenada
    Guyana
    Ireland
    Jamaica
    Nauru
    New Zealand
    Saint Kitts and Nevis
    Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
    Trinidad and Tobago
    United Kingdom
    United States

Here are a couple Wikipedia articles I found helpful:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ing_population

*indicates it is not a true independent country
