And we have no idea what you're talking about!

You need to post a link.

1st one is a high-resolution patch tinted blue, 2nd one is low-resolution mountains, 3rd one is exactly the same as the 2nd one, 4th one is a random spot in the ocean...showing absolutely nothing.

    Hello Blackholefinder,
( You are finding a line instead of a black hole )

In your first post you said '1 sec'. I think what you meant is that a line appears while loading and stays for a sec or so and then vanishes.

    Do you mean that?

If that is so then the explaination is ( I experienced it today once ) : GE ( actually I have used wikimapia not GE because I am behind firewall ) stores the data in square 'tiles' and whenever a viewer down loads the data it comes as a set of tiles. If the link is slow them sometimes there is a time gap between susequent tiles and for a small duration the boundry between two tiles appears as a line 'in blank space' as you mentioned in your first post.

If you mean something else than this freak line then you please give more details.

    Happy GEHing!

There are a lot of these lines in blue, red or green colours in Google Sky but I think they are image errors.

There is even a "black hole"

So I've had this issue before...clearing your cache usually helps..
Oh and are you using GE3?
Cause that would help figure out why I can't see anything..

It hasn't anything to do with the cache, Spider. They are really there in Google Sky.

Here are snapshots of the lines.

Well everyone knows that those colored lines are the laser flashes from the Millenium Falcon, and I'm sure if you looked really closely, you would see the Death Star

I do wonder what they are though.

For a second I thought they were satellites passing by. That's unlikely however, since these pictures usually have long exposure times.

Modern telescopes use CCD's to capture light, so the image is completely digital from the start. A small error is hard to avoid with these devices (which are generally significantly larger and more sensitive than the ones in your digital camera) so all these lines are probably just technical errors.

All the stitching together of the images that Google does probably doesn't help either.

Slightly (East) of your placemark is a "zipper error" see attached file.

My mind works better in sentences with spaces and long paragraphs loose me sometimes cause I need to picture what is going on at the same time I am reading.

You want to see a strange line in space? Check this out. Notice the tail on the lower side. Anyone know what this is?
