    Default new catagory

    Hi

I have a couple of kmz tours on canals and I have found a catagory for that.

I also have a two tours on rivers.
Should there not be a catagory including rivers?

Sorry, but I don't understand you...

Which categories exactly do you mean?

When I want to add a file I have to choose a catagory for exampel

    Sightseeing: Other
    --- Bridges / Dams / Canals

My 'problem' is that I have 2 files with Rivers, not Canals

Could 'Rivers' be added to '--- Bridges / Dams / Canals' or a new catagory be made. I dont see that I can make a new or modify a catagory, so I ask who can make this change.

But you are not talking about tours like hiking tours, rowingboat-tours or sort of? In that case there is (from my point of view) non of the categories matching. If you want to tell us something about canals and rivers, then you can use the Bridges / Dam / Canal category.
    We aren't that picky

I will guess I put my Amazon river tour into that catagory allthough people from South America most likely wont consider their/the worlds biggest river a 'Bridges / Dam / Canal'.

As a new user my only Q then is; why then have that many catagories in the files section of Google Earth Hacks. I got rather confused when I tried to take a overview of what is what! As an exampel of something not easy to fit in, is that my tour of 150+ placemarks is separated from the tour overlays, since I see this as practical in many, many ways. Should I submit the placemarks in on catagory and overlays in another?

In my humle opinion it could narrow down to two catagories something like: 'Single placemarks' and 'Tours' and an effective search function (There is one at the moment, I know)

In my opinion it is impossible to predict which catagories users will create their 'hacks' in now and in future. I just wanna search it all...

Wrong quoting, Dooley. As I said:

Only the Big Chief (Mickey) can modify the categories.
