Star of India was built in 1863 as Euterpe, a full-rigged iron ship in Ramsey, Isle of Man. After a full career sailing between Great Britain and India, she became a salmon hauler on the Alaska to California route. After retirement, she was restored and is now a seaworthy museum ship ported in San Diego. The ship was designated a National Historic Landmark.

*The Star of India is the world's oldest active ship.

...which is actually the USS Constitution ...

From http://www.sdmaritime.org/contentpage.asp?ContentID=48 - "The Star of India is the world's oldest active ship."

From http://www.ussconstitution.navy.mil/...n_Pamphlet.pdf - "USS CONSTITUTION, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world"

    Somebody isn't be truthful here

The USS Constitution made sail for the first time on October 21, 1797. The Star Of India was built in 1863. I think that means the Navy wins the oldest ship award and San Diego needs to change their facts.

BUT - A Google search for "World's Oldest Active Ship" shows 100% of the top sixty hits as Star Of India.
