    Default newbie alert

hi, im new to this forum, have used google earth for some time and have some interesting things to share and hopefully get some input on. just uploaded my first file successfully. its titled "wyomingsquares" i have a few questions. read faqs, but still dont understand why it says at the bottom that i "may not" post attachments, perhaps its because my account is very new. i have had some difficulty on another forum and dont need anymore BS and trashing from anyone who just wants to put someone down for not knowing the basics of posting pics, etc. any help or advice in forum usage would be appreciated, thanks, almon

The lack of you being allowed to post is not your fault. We had issues with spammers and the uploading of inappropriate content, so the feature is locked for people who have just created accounts. But since I was the one who just denied your file for not being a kmz or kml, I have a hardcopy of it and have attached it to your post above.

Just make a few more posts. The threshold is pretty low, you need only 3 or 5 or 10 posts (I forgot which number) in order to have attachment and PM privileges.

i read in the faqs that putting a placemark before saving would result in a kml extension, but when i tried to save it in my desktop it came out as a jpg

When you save a file there's no option for kmz? In Google Earth?

    Did you create a placemark?

Highlight the placemark then "Save Place As".

My pleasure. I see you are up to 11 posts and still don't have PM privileges, there may be a time requirement in addition to # of posts.
