the hanging gardens of Babylon... in Paris

In the eastern land of Paris, just behind the new opera Bastille of the city, was the place where ended an elevated railroad unused since 1969. At the beginning of the 90s, the authorities of the city decided to transform this 4,5kms-long place in a "chain" of gardens of various styles: English, Mediterranean, Japanese, French, etc...Its name is "Promenade plantée"

If you go to the French capital, don´t hesitate to have a pleasant walk on it. the metro station is "République". Look at the Opera, and go behind it for its right side.
