This may be a hard one. It surely is a high one... one of the worlds most dangerous airports. Many are landing here and often heading for even higher and highest places on earth.

Adding a hint, hopefully, for a start by giving you also a 3D GE view.

Are you uptight, get downloose! Why not try a GE file - Also downloadable at GEC and http://ge.dooley.dk - Tom Kjeldsen

    Knew it right away
    Lukla Airport in Nepal

    27°41′16″N 086°43′53″E

Hint: People get rescued by other people flying from here. A jet company that went recently bankrupt provided a daily jet taxi service to/from here.

Ignoring the coordinates on the image, I came up with 25°54'16.38"N 80°16'41.42"W

This isn't on an island but it is near a big rock.

The road across the runway gives this one away, but I'll check anyway ....

    .... yep, Gibraltar. 36° 9'3.15"N 5°21'0.48"W

This military airfield is on an island that recently "celebrated" an anniversary.

I remember the war. It's Mt Pleasant in the Falklands. 51°49'18.09"S 58°26'53.81"W

I saw airplane take off from here this morning.

The takeoff looked something like this.

That was a terrible clue. The only logical answer was you saw it around where you live, Cary, North Carolina. There are over 200 airports and airfields in NC, and I spent hours checking them out.

Hint was actually super useful. That shuttle was in the news, may have even been that picture. I can't remember if it was Discovery or Enterprise, but it was the shuttles last flight. It's the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuttle_Landing_Facility @

I don't have time to do my own, and I totally failed last time, so I pass it back to anyone

Ahh, I took it as a figure of speech and red herring combined as one. Quite clever. The "take off" part was the only part of the hint that was relevant, the "I saw" was the red herring. Sneaky, really.

Here's mine. I won't make that unfortunate mistake of posting the coordinates again.

Hint: No scheduled airline service, but very busy. Reliever airport for a bigger airport. On the coast of C-a

Hmm...I wonder what "C-a" means? I thought it might be California, and the land use sure looks like California, but I couldn't find it. Also, I see what looks like a water park next to the airport. I will look some more after work if no one else finds it by then.

Ahh, well it is actually supposed to be Ca. - is important though.

    Cairns Airport: -16.874722, 145.752222

Only part of the hint I understood was Australia. And I had JUST looked at this airport like 2 minutes ago when I saw the challenge (was trying to find SV planes in flight). Why rainforest? Also, if you zoom out to the Great Barrier Reef, with Airports enabled under transportation, this is the only airport you can see.

    Hint: Heading here? Quite far.
