Cairns is known by the epithet, "Where the Rainforest meets the Reef."

Had you Googled "Australia +rainforest +barrier reef" you would have got Cairns.

Whereas your clue could be anywhere in the world.

The hint is probably too obscure. More a riddle than a hint. Hard to come up with hints that don't give away too much but give enough to make it reasonable.

    Perhaps:
There are 887 bodies here, but ~ 5000 people.
It's also an island (since I obscured the water on the other side)

Haha I liked that hint. :P

    It's not Easter, it's Christmas!

    Christmas Island Airport: 10░27.0′S 105░41.4′E

    Continuing the Island Trend:
Hint: Has to do with: coming at the close of once naked games

    Top Gear ... 51░ 6'56.67"N 0░31'53.55"W

I once took off from this airport in a glider for a flight over Mont Blanc .... but it's NOT in France, and is not far from a famous tunnel that starts in France.

The British forcibly removed the inhabitants of these islands so this air base could be built.

    Diego Garcia 7░18'46.33"S 72░24'29.68"E

This one was once one of the busiest in the world. It was busy again on 9/11.

Your clues are very American centred, no-one outside the US would associate anything to do with 9/11 with anywhere but New York.

If this was once the busiest in the world it must have been a long time ago, it's not in the top thirty or so now.

I'm guessing an island somewhere in north Atlantic where planes that didn't have enough range to cross the Atlantic would have to stop to refuel back in the day.
