Default LAPD's secret Blue Thunder Base?

    Hi!

Just stumbled across this what looks like a helipad in the LA area:
    http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=34.06...z=18&t=h&hl=en

    What's strange about it:
    • The helipad is not registered anywhere (not uncommon)
    • Google Maps tells us there is a company selling shoes located there.
    • That company doesn't have a public website but states to be selling shoes to whoever.
    • That shoe seller has police cars parked all over his property, always! (just slide back and forth using the timer in Google Earth)
    • In streetview you can see US flags on property grounds like in front of other govt buildings
    • If you check the back of the property in streetview you will find lots of signs on the walls telling you to stay away and not to take any photos.
    • In streetview you can't see the police cars, the property is completely sealed off by walls. You only see them from the air.

    Any ideas?

I agree with the unregistered (not here: http://www.city-data.com/airports/Lo...alifornia.html)

    http://maps.google.com/?ll=34.06657,...32.35,,1,-4.48

    There's the signs you mentioned.

Perhaps highway patrol helipad. Route 10 is right near it.

My mind works better in sentences with spaces and long paragraphs loose me sometimes cause I need to picture what is going on at the same time I am reading.

I doubt it's highway patrol. Why would they be hidden like that and covered by a shoe distributor?

    @ Gandolf:
Sorry, but that doesn't explain it. Your coordinates point at the LA prison, which is a few miles to the west, so something completely different.
