Default Lady of the Lake - B-29 Bomber at Eielson AFB discussion

This is a discussion thread for the following file:

Lady of the Lake - B-29 Bomber at Eielson AFB

The “lady” is a KB-29P, the refueling version of the B-29 bomber, Tail No. 4483905. Her permanent home was Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., but she was on temporary duty at Eielson. She died April 17, 1956, according to records, when she landed on Eielson’s runway and her front landing gear buckled.

Was looking this up, actually have a photograph from the 1980's, it was not easy to find back then.
Took a swim in her to see what was left, fairly gutted out but it was fun.
