The calculation isn't done in miles, although it probably should be. I use the the famous pythagorean theorem (a^2 + b^2 = c^2) to find the distance between your area and the nearest mine. "a" is the latitude difference between your mine and the next, "b" is the longitude between your mine and the next.Originally Posted by birq
I have the minimum distance allowed set at .3 for now. This means if there was a just one mine on the map, at 26 0', 42 0', you could go north to 26 19' (just past .3) and it would let you build one there.
Looking at the spot you mentioned, it just doesn't seem to be open enough.
