    Cool Tour de France 2005

Anybody watching the last run of Lance Armstrong for his 7th straight Tour de France champion?

    Watch it with Google Earth!
I am providing route maps I made including course path, town/hill/sprint points, distance info. You will find route maps for upcoming stages in "Current Events" area in file download pages.

Google Earth is perfect app for Bicycle road race (or any road race like Marathon, car rally race etc) as roads/up&down/distance is sp critical.... for both cyclists and fans! You will preview what kind of hills that Lance is attacking in 3D while watching TV!
Or GPS integration will help a lot for cyclist or racing team....

Also "Elevation Exaggeration" function will help a lot for TV viewer, as the slope on the Google Earth looks like bit flatter than you feel (on TV or real world). I recommend "1.5" as a biker.

Any comments for making better route maps or ideas to utilize them are highly appreciated.

Default How do you get the "3-D" effect for the terrain?

Lance is a machine! This Tour should be one of the greatest (as far as competition for Lance) since he started winning. I'm looking forward to the Alps starting Tuesday.

    Talking Tour de Moon?

    rvbooth, my pleasure.
Now route maps are complete with Stage 21 upload. Can't wait the ITT now!

Next year, letour.fr definitely should provide accurate route maps and GPS based realtime race tracking service as a Google Earth contents!

So map making are done, then I am just joking....

Exclamation Revision of TdF Stage 21 (final) route map

I found a mistake in the final Champs-Elysées circuit on the route map (it should go thru the tunnel in front of Musee du Louvre), so I have uploaded 2nd revision....I believe the new map will be going on the TdF folder after moderation soon.

I have refered this citcuit map of TdF 2004 from Paris Pref Police.

Sorry about that, and would like to suggest re-download for those who already have previous one...

The showdown for 6-peat champ Lance Armstong for his final TdF podium is on Sunday afternoon, French time.

    Thanks
