Seemed to be a "Dallas Class" submarine from the USN.

    "Dallas" class?

I'm assuming you mean 688 class, aka Los Angeles class. But this is a Le Triomphant class Ballistic Missile Submarine.

Sorry, "Dallas" is my favorite LA-Class sub.

So, you mean it is a Le Triomphant class! Your french sub is 453 feet long and the LA class is 360 feet long and this one is nearly 360 feet long.

For me it's not a Le Triomphant class, but a Redoutable class submarine.

This makes me smile, because the "harbor" is just THE french nuclear submarine base.
It makes me smile, because all the little peninsula is "top secret" zone, and trying to take a picture in a 1km range from there just makes the soldiers there nervous, so try to imagine such a high resolution photo

Opposite of the bay,in the north is the military harbor of Brest, head quarters of the french atlantic fleet.

    Redoutable class is 128.7m long
    Triomphant class is 138m long

Which size do you estimate the one on the photo to be?

    110m or 360 feet

It can also not be a Rubis or Agosta Class Tactic Submarine
