    Default Huangyangtan Mystery

"Those among you who like your skies darkened by black helicopters are invited to mosey on down to the remote Chinese village of Huangyangtan which hosts what must be the strangest military installation ever spotted by the Google Earth Community..."

    Default black helicopters?

I must be missing something. I do not see any helicopters.

My mind works better in sentences with spaces and long paragraphs loose me sometimes cause I need to picture what is going on at the same time I am reading.

    Default very strange...

the "black helicopters" were probably meant as a metaphor for conspiracy theories.

indeed this is very strange. looks like a 30 mile section, but it's not more than half a mile. It's definitely a pretty expensive sandbox for military strategy games. But I wonder how they would work with it... did they shrink their soldiers? ;-)

    Excellent finding!!!

Even curiouser, did anyone note what appears to be a golf course next door ? (albeit a very bleak one)

Maybe my theory that the numbers 1~18 don't mean a golf course after all (even though the scale is about right)
I just found this story about 18 new archaeological sites in that vicinity. (Though I don't know if it correlates to 18 sites in the one area.)

It would be interesting to know why the numbers 1~18 (in western script) are etched in the ground there.

Anyone else have a better theory ?

    Hello.

I've found similar huge numbers near the border between China and Kyrgyzstan.
    2 numbers 1
    2 numbers 2
    and
    3 numbers 3.

    Near home on the ground.

I can only make one person happy per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good either.
