    This is a discussion thread for the following file:

    F117 - invisible bomber - in Serbia

    On 27th of March, 1999, on 4th night of NATO campaign against Serbia, F117, "invisible" stealth bomber was shot down by Serbian SA-3 surface-to-air missile.

    No, they never claimed it was "invisible". It was a low oberservable (radar wise) airplane. There's still no proof this was nothing more than a lucky shot when the bomb bay doors were open.
