A six engine plane
The mystery plane
It's a Convair xc 99. Not that i'm any aeronautical mastermind...but google is.
I'm impressed... is this plane still flying or is it in a museum? I think the Antonow is the only active plane with six engines (although these are jet engines). Never heard of the XC99. Nice plane, nice shot. There's also the spruce goose with eight engines, but this plane only flew once over a distance of a mile or so. Today you will find it in a museum in Oregon (already checked this spot, it is no high resolution area, though parts of McMinnville are).
Please post the AN225 if you should ever find it!!!
is it still used? I know that they use the biggest planes availabe to supply the german troops in afghanistan, so i checked the kabul airport and there are some pretty big planes, but..not the AN 225 :-(

kabul airport is still interesting, so: here it is. a lot of army stuff there.
You found an AN124...
... this is definitely the AN 124, the second largest airplane. The 225 is still in service. We had a job with it last year in the US.
The difficulty with GE is that you don't know when they took the picture of each cluster. I think they're up to five years old... So it would be a big coincidence to find the AN 225, especially because there's only one of it on this planet. But I made a bet with my colleague ;-)
i made a little research,
one An 225 should be based on the Kiew airport, problem: low res :-(
another opp is as i already said the Zhukovsky airport, think it got developed there.
Proble: low res :-(
Are these bomb craters near the kabul airport?
