Odd circles in Saudi Arabia

Any idea what these are?

They are farmland. The watering is done by HUGE pipes that radiate out from the center. Along each spoke there are wheels. Often a concrete ring will run around the perimeter for the wheels to turn easily.

Thanks for that answer Appletom...I spotted similar circles in South-Africa and wondered what they were...

As the resident circle expert, what's your view on these? I'd say it's a mangy dog
