    Default Clarke Island, Sydney discussion

This is a discussion thread for the following file:

    Clarke Island, Sydney

Uninhabited island in Sydney Harbour close to the Opera House. Got its name from Lieutenant Ralph Clarke, who sailed from England in May 1787 to establish the first European colony in New South Wales, and maintained a vegetable garden on the island. Now the island is part of Sydney Harbour National Park.

    Hello,

Sorry, this is'nt Clarke Island but the awful prison of Fort Denisson better known as "Pinchgut island". The beautiful Clacke Island is 1.6km South West outside Rushcutter Bay.
