Default Same plane four times? discussion

This is a discussion thread for the following file:

    Same plane four times?

These can't be landing this close to each other, must be the same plane in images taken seconds apart.

    wow, that's awesome!
must be some mistake when they were taking the images, but a landing plane...
the "4 planes" are about 500 m (~0.35 miles) away from each other.
believe me or not, 5 minutes ago i looked like this:

    awesome

I was a bit surprised too, it can't be too common for this to happen. It looks like the Heathrow images have changed in the last few days (the Concorde parked by runway 23 is no longer there). I'd have thought this multi-image would have been noticed before otherwise.

There was a similar one posted recently - http://www.googleearthhacks.com/foru...1&postcount=14
I can only make one person happy per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good either.

I think the images at Heathrow changed in the last few hours.
You search it, I will find it!

Terminal 5 has been removed. You can see a road going towards it with traffic. The road then disappears. The previous picture showed Terminal 5 with most of the roof on. Strange thart there are notices along the motorway forbidding photographs of T5 and then it disappears from GE!

    Smile Explanation

Apparently the LHR image in GE was obtained from aerial photographic images.
The aircraft taking the images will have had a similar groundspeed and direction to the Air France 737 which is why it appears 4 times - it only disappears on the 5th frame because it has slowed down to turn off the R/W.

Thanks to Saukko of GE Community for that info.

The clue is in the 2006 GeoInformation Group logo at the bottom of the screen
    - which also accounts for the quality of the LHR images
