Two Australian miners have been rescued from a gold mine after

being trapped deep underground for two weeks.



Brant Webb, 37, and Todd Russell, 34, walked out of the lift

at the mine in Tasmania and waved to cheering crowds.

A wonderful result but while we waited in anticipation for their release from the bowels of the Earth none of us were aware of the true story.
Because of the mining company's incompetence the two fellows were almost killed by several explosions set off by the company.
They'd assumed that they were dead (after discovering the third miner's body).
They were discovered by accident when one of their buddies strayed into the forbidden sector and heard their cries to stop blasting.
