Eldee Man

A Broken Hill artist who trained as a mining engineer has created the world's largest art work, a 4.3 million-square-metre figure of a smiling stockman furrowed into the Mundi Mundi Plains, about 30 kilometres outside Silverton, north of Broken Hill. Australian Artist Ando took a year to create the portrait of a smiling stockman, using a tractor to chisel out the image and expose the red earth, which can be seen from two kilometres above. HyMap acquired these images on 15th March 2002 while in the Broken Hill area.
