    Default Sub on boat

That is a "Floating Dry Dock" the sub must be under repair.
No longer "Laid back at the lake."

    Ahh HA! Thought so.
Took a look at "Keyhole" and the rocket scientists there says it is the USS San Francisco dry docked after a collision.

(Now I would not want to steal from their BBS, so all I did was enable the "Google Earth Community" layer in the layers section of Google Earth. I think that makes it public domain.)
No longer "Laid back at the lake."

It is indeed USS San Francisco - the DG layers verify when the photo was taken, and it corresponds to when SanFran (I served aboard her in '84 - '85) was in drydock in Apra Harbor for repairs after hitting an undersea mountain. She was the only 688 in there at the time, and all visual clues (new report photo's, etc) match the terrain around that drydock.
