Sadly you can't increase the size to more than 2GB.
Check out the Only Google Earth Wiki on the internet.

    Cool Nice new layers available

Cool new layers are available now for GE !!!

Google has released new layers today. Probably the biggest addition is the Best of 3DWarehouse Buildings layer (read more below):

    New/updated layers:

    * Yelp Reviews - A new Featured Content layer of reviews from the web site Yelp.com which hosts reviews by people who have been there.
    * 3D Buildings - Google has decided to make the large repository of quality 3D buildings from the 3D Warehouse easier to view. If you have the latest GE 4 beta, you can now turn on a "Best of 3D Warehouse" layer under "3D Buildings" and it will automatically load high quality buildings for the area you are viewing (using a network link). You can also still download the 3D Warehouse network link to find even more 3D models and select the placemark to load them up. See this for more details.

  3. * Roads of Brazil - Remember a few days ago when I said some of the new roads for Google Maps were not in GE? Well, they at least added the new ones for Brazil. But, where is Australia, New Zealand, etc? In fact, the crude base layers of roads for those two countries are gone now. Maybe that's a sign the new road layers are coming.
    * Geographic Web - there seems to be a lot more Panoramio photos in the "Geographic Web" layer.
    * "Sunrise Earth" - Under the "Featured Content" layer you will find "Discovery Network", there is now a new sublayer called "Sunrise Earth". This shows placemarks for locations where Discovery HD has "Sunrise Earth" programs and if you click on the placemarks the picture is a link to 2.5 minute video clips from the programs.
To see the 3D models you have to download the newest version of GE (4.0.2722)

    Default St Petersburg, Russia

The whole of St Petersburg, Russia, is now hi-res (as opposed to just the South side of the city before)

    Default Argentina

Argentina has very little hi-res coverage. Only in the capital and acceptable resolution in its big cities...I would like to see hi-res coverage in more regions (Buenos Aires province for ie. (personal interest :-D )) in future updates

    cheers

Just take a break from playing BattleTech from time to time

My mind works better in sentences with spaces and long paragraphs loose me sometimes cause I need to picture what is going on at the same time I am reading.

    Default 23.10.2007: New imgage update

According to Google Earth Blog a huge update has happened.

A bunch of new imagery for Google Earth has been released. This came to my attention courtesy of an E-mail from GEB reader Artak in Germany. No word yet from Google on the official list, but here is a summary of places found so far (mostly by folks at the KugelErde.de - German Google Earth forum):

Germany - Wilhelmshaven, Hamburg, Lübeck, Travemünde, Timmendorfer Strand, Münster, Magdeburg, Chemnitz, Stuttgart, Rostock, Erfurt, Freiburg, Saarbrücken, Sylt, Aurich, Wiesmor, Mellum, Wangerooge, Spiekeroog, Langeoog, Norderney, Juist, Memmert, Borkum, Wiesmoor, Flensburg, Schleswig.
    Netherlands
    Yerevan, Armenia
    Tunesia
    Syria
    Oregon, USA
    Marshall Islands, French Polynesia
North Carolina, USA joins the list of entire state coverage with high resolution imagery
At least portions of Puerto Rico are updated - the blimp has moved.
    Leeds, UK
    Reykjavik, Iceland
    Derby, England
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and substantial portions of Pennsylvania
    Niagara Falls, New York
Also, according to GEB reader Dan Saxton, Canada has much better 3D terrain now.

This is the second imagery update in October. A highly unusual occurrence. Usually it's about 60 days between imagery updates.

    Default Another Image Update

wow, is this two weeks in a row?

    What I've seen so far:
Oregon, Nebraska, and North Carolina are 100%
Various States like Mississippi have large additions. Pennsylvania is close to 100%.

    Germany is finally 100%

The Netherlands has no new images, but somebody did some color correction to make the water blue instead of muddy-brown.

    Tunisia looks 100%

I don't know if they were full before, but I think not. Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Syria all look like they are 100% now.

That's what I've found so far.

O RLY? Looks like Heligoland and some others of the new updated german areas are definitely more hi-res that e.g. my area

Otherwise the maps of my home area now are really much better than they were last year - one could barely identify my village, now i can see my house, even it's not a really good view.

Maybe it's not too bad that nobody can see me mowing the lawn (or sitting on the terrace, drinking my cider).
... but never eat the yellow snow! (Inuit wisdom)
