I'm really amazed at the quality of this picture. Doesn't appear possble for this to be a satellite image. It must be an aerial shot that was added onto GE.

indeed, it's not satellital, it's one of the "flying over africa" pictures from national geographic

You can find many more low altitude aircraft photos by National Geographic photographer J. Michael Fay. Just check the box Layers>Gallery>National Geographic Magazine>Africa Megaflyover and look for the red airplane icons.
