Default frustrating

Military Base -Surprising detail, this is probably quite frustrating to the North Korean government, to think that a private citizen can obtain such information using a broadband internet connection and a $25 peice of software, incredible!

This base has a 6500 foot runway with two planes currently on the runwayt. It's almost comical to see the rest of the airplanes, bermed up next to the runway. Who do they think they are going to protect these planes from? It's simply amazing how much information can be gleened from this image, . The runways poorly maintained, very little traffic (no tire skid marks on either end), weeds growing around the taxiways. Contrast this with the 12,000 foot runways at Los Angeles Internationl airport(Lat - 33.941004, Long -118.399409) or any other major airport any where else in the world, even Baghdad international looks in better shape than this place!
Above is taken from the Keyhole Community BBS. Great information there.

...after looking on that airfield, I have doubt that it is used by the military.
The planes shape doesn´t look like they are jet-propulsed.

The "dug planes" on the other hand would mean, that there is a bank built around the planes in order to protect them.
This protection could mean to protect them from severe weather but normally to prevent the planes from splints from bombs.
Probably it is an airfield used for training purposes..... :-?

Do keep in mind that it's North Korea. Those are indeed military fighters. The NK Airforce uses J-6 and J-7 fighters from China. These appear to be MiG 15's and 17's. See globalsecurity.org for more info. These are Jets from an era when Jets looked like that.

Default Maybe not Jet propelled

Some of the shadows appear to have propellers. Most have square wings and the lack of skid marks together with the poorly maintained strip suggest slower planes.
