We've just added a link to each file's page to show what city it is from. However, our method for determining the host city is a bit unorthodox.
We initially were going to just list the "official" city for that batch of StreetView imagery. However, some StreetView cities are lumped close together (with overlapping data) and it's hard to determine how to categorize the "in-between" locations (Chicago is a good example). This will continue to get worse as more and more cities are added by Google. Instead, we've loaded our database with a list of every city in the US that has more than 1,000 residents -- around 15,000 cities in all. When a new item is added our StreetView database, we find the nearest city and put it in that group. It's not perfect, but it should do a pretty good job for us. Please reply to this post if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks! Last edited by Mickey; 04-18-2008 at 07:18 PM. |

Nice work.
How about adding City name to the overview page so we don't have to drill down to the detail page to see it? |

While you're at it, can you make the comments section clickable, and/or add a "Add Comment" spot under "Comments" on the overview page?
