Area 51

im pretty new to this so sumbody's probably already mentioned it but the main airstrip at area 51 is like 7 km long, i cant think of any planes that need that much...

Thats because the planes they are landing there (and subsequently parking them in bunkers under that salt lake to the north) are beyond any technology you or I can comprehend.. they may have planes landing there that do Mach 30 or Mach 100.. or maybe approaching the speed of light.. they would certainly need 7KM to stop..

Even if that technology isnt in play now, I dont think they want to rebuild their runways for every new plane they want to test..
