Default Vector TD - Need Help :giverose:

Hello(Mickey)

i played Vector TD and I used nearly the same tactics as I've used in Tower Defense 2007. During the game it looked good, I had much more money than needed.

Here is aSreenshot:

Round:_ 50
Lives: 15
Money: 366735$

Can someone give me a clue what I could doo better? I'm far away from 15 mio. I know how to make money, but how can I get more points?

Or isn't that much money for the last round and I have to earn much more to get more points?

Any help would be apreciated much.

1 - Never buy power or range boosters, always take the interest.
2 - Never upgrade a tower - $ for $, you can never buy as much power upgrading as you can by buying multiple towers.
3 - I've never purchased a green or purple tower.
4 - The biggie - You need to use the fewest amount of towers possible in each level. The more money you have in the bank when you send in the next wave, the higher your score.

Great tips. I disagree with #2 in a few cases, but otherwise you're spot on.

The key is to have JUST enough to beat each level. If one or two creeps slip through, let them go. You need to be fanatical about saving money, because money=points.

Think of little things, too. The interest is calculated when you send the next level. If you plan to sell a tower, do it BEFORE you send the next level (earn interest on the money you earn from it). If you need to buy more towers, buy them AFTER you send the next level (earn interest on the money you're about to spend). A few dollars saved here and there becomes big bucks at the end when you're making 30% interest every turn.

Hmmm - what towers become more powerful by upgrading when you compare money spent?

Big red is $2,500 to buy, $1,250 to upgrade. Here's big red's chart:

For $5,000 I can have 2 big reds or 1 big red upgraded 2 times.
2 big reds = 60,000 damage
1 big red upgraded 2 times = 57,272 damage

For $7,500 I can have 3 big reds or 1 big red upgraded 4 times.
3 big reds = 90,000 damage
1 big red upgraded 4 times = 84,544 damage

For $10,000 I can have 4 big reds or 1 big red upgraded 6 times.
4 big reds = 120,000 damage
1 big red upgraded 6 times = 111,816 damage

For $12,500 I can have 5 big reds or 1 big red upgraded 8 times.
5 big reds = 150,000 damage
1 big red upgraded 8 times = 139,088 damage

So, for my $12,500, I can have one "bullet" doing almost 140,000 in damage; or I can have five bullets in the air at the same time doing a combined damage of 150,000.

Hmm, good info. I'll have to try again using those ideas.

Here's my finish:

I thought I'd get another income at the end, but I didn't...
I went up till the later level 30s with all level 1 big reds, and a lot less slow towers. When I had 2 million cash, I figured spending some on filling up the page with slowers wouldnt hurt my income too much. You can get to level 9 with a single red (the smallest one)...

I always wish for that last one too.

I'm telling you -- be a penny pincher. If you don't need it, don't buy it.

I believe that's roughly how I start, too.

Stay away from my score - I'll ban you for a week if you go above me

How?

If I have just a small red, 23 green guys get past me in the third wave and it's game over. I can get through level nine with a small red and a small blue, but I cannot find a way past level 3 with only a small red.

Are you on Switchback?
Btw, the greens are on level 4..
So, I don't actually really remember how far you can actually get with one little red, because I remember at one point making another... I'm trying it now..Up to level 3 and fine, now level 4. Yep..it WAS this level when I added the other red. =), However, 2 little reds is cheaper then a red and a blue. Also, you CAN make it with just one little red, you however lose 10 lives on that level, which is a bit much for just another 200 money..
