Just to add to the information above... The Red route is undergoing extensive upgrading at the moment. 2km of trail is being converted to an all season surface that can survive the punishment it has been getting in the past few years.

As such, please do not ride the red route until Easter this year. Even then only the short loop will be open. Please do not go near the area as the contractors are using heavy machinery to lay the new trail and if they see you they will have to report a near miss (this takes time and paperwork and may mean they don't get all of the trail completed).

So for the curious of you, please stay away. If you want to see the new trail, get in contact with TIMBER (www.timbermtb.org) and come along to a build day. We are assisting the contractors where we can and have already helped by whacking the first section laid last week.

As an update to riding the Red Route: It has now been officially reopened by the FC. TIMBER members have been sweeping the worst sections of the loose top layers... this has revealed a very solid foundation for the new sections... Ride it and enjoy!
