 The Bohemian Grove is a 2,700-acre virgin redwood grove in Northern California, 75 miles north of San Francisco, where the rich, the powerful, and the famous visit with each other during the last two weeks of July while camping out in cabins and tents -- and drinking heavily. The gathering includes semi-Masonic themes that center around a 40-foot tall stone owl. Mock-Druidic rituals are performed, and the attendees (referred to as "Bohos" or "Grovers") wear Ku Klux Klan-style garb. (Many past and present attendees are our supposedly Christian leaders..) The Cremation of Care ritual usually takes place (in front of the lake, and the moloch idol) on the 15th of July (yesterday.)
