Default Posting General Army Stats

How about posting somewhere, maybe on a players main page, the size of the top five single armies. I dont necessarily want to know who owns them, but I would like to know how big the largest armies are. That way I have something to compare to. There could be other stats like this posted, this was just a first thought...

It would be kind of nice to know where one is in the food chain, if for no better purpose than to foster despair and self-loathing. ;-)

How about a simple ranking of armies? Perhaps each army anyone has could be tagged with a percentile figure? Something?

I dunno what stats should be anonymous, which should "name names," and so forth. Depends a bit on what Mickey might want to do with intel reports and the like.

I'd just like to have some way to compare my strength versus others. Plus it might be a way to provide a check on players who arent playing by the rules. It may raise a few eyebrows if some army sizes are way out of line...

I'd be ok with showing a list, ranked most troops to fewest troops, of armies in the game. However, I would not include the actual number of troops in each army. That would make it much easier to figure out which city has how many troops in it.

Also, showing the number of troops in each army would make the "spy" idea worthless. If the information can be had freely and is known to be accurate, then paying for the "spy" feature (where the information could be accurate or inaccurate) would be pointless. This assumes, of course, that Mickey is still contemplating adding a "spy" feature to the game eventually.

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT SPIES...

If there is a yin, there has to be a yang

If you add spies you will have to add anti-spies as well. So do not even bother...

The original idea with spies was that you would pay to get information on your enimies. It was then suggested to Mickey that if he is going to have spies that there should be a risk factor in purchasing information. It could either be valid information or it could be invalid information. So you've got a 50/50 chance of getting bad information.

The "intelligence reports" suggestion is on the To Do list, but I'm not sure how much thought he has put into it.

A game like this uses chance as it's backbone. I try to give more advantages to those that use good strategy (read: bigger armies), but it'll always come down to some degree of chance.
