Default Weird sand - Brisbane

I found this off the coast of Brisbane. I've been told that it looks like a giant sea serpent hiding in the water.

I assume it's just sediment from the rivers. I'd like to know too, though.

I'd imagine its just sand banks caused by the tides and winds and all of that, and google managed to catch it on a particularly crazy-looking day there are a few of them around, check out some of the other mouthes of rivers down the east coast.. here are a few..
