Hi all,
I've hacked a script that transforms an RSS2 feed (enriched with geotags) into KML. This way you can fly from RSS location to location and read something about that place. I use it for my holiday blog. There are examples showing the latest earthquakes, etc. Check it out here: http://www.kovacevic.nl/blog/archive...le-Earth!.html Best, Zoran P.S.: If you want to a geotag enabled blog, try here: http://www.kovacevic.nl/blog/archive...ag-plugin.html |

Nice work! very good idea! There are many other similar files already on the site such as; Flickr Images - This pulls up the closest 50 photos of the location you are looking at, great for virtual sightseeing! & News Around The World - This takes the latest Google News headlines and posts them as little scrolls around the world.. first paragraph of the article is in the description and there is a link to the full article

Yep, I knew about the Flickr one, which is really cool. I'm thinking about making a similar one for the Gallery2 software.
The news link you mentioned is only about old news? It is not updated any more, or is it a static file? If not, how did they manage to get the locations from the news item? Best, Zoran |
